Footwork
Our feet are our foundation. They support us in every step we take and play a vital role in how we move through life. The way we stand, move, and distribute our weight reflects how we use our body as a whole.
Language captures this connection. We speak of “to walk on our tiptoes”, “to get cold feet” or “to dig your heels in”; expressions that reveal how closely our feet are linked to our attitude and way of being.
Our feet mirror patterns present throughout the body. By bringing attention and care to them, we can support greater awareness and balance in the entire system. When the feet are flexible and relaxed, the body tends to follow and vice versa.
Footwork is a hands-on approach that focuses on the feet as a gateway to the entire body. In the session I combine techniques from Massage Therapy and The Grinberg Method. Working with the feet offers a direct and effective way to influence the whole body, encouraging a more grounded, stable, and relaxed way of moving through life.
Practical information
The session lasts 60 minutes, including a 5-minute intake beforehand. You can remain fully dressed during the session, as the work is focused only on your feet and ankles. You can book a single session or a series of sessions, depending on your needs and preferences.
For Who
This work is for anyone who enjoys having their feet touched or prefers to stay dressed during a session. Because the feet are connected to the rest of the body, working on them can have an effect on your whole system. You are welcome to come without a specific goal, or with a clear intention you would like to work on.
It may be particularly helpful for people who:
Have tired, painful, or overworked feet, stand or walk a lot for work, experience stress or feel “stuck” in their body, feel disconnected from their body or find it difficult to relax
Working with the feet can support both physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Possible benefits include:
Reduced tension and stress, calms the mind, improved body awareness, better posture and balance, relief from physical discomfort, emotional release, improved overall flexibility, enhanced quality of breathing, increased energy levels and a deeper sense of relaxation, grounding, and presence
Want to dive deeper into a specific aim?
Then the Grinberg Method will probably be a good fit for you. In this method, I can also work solely on the feet, and we will dive deeper into the patterns behind your symptoms, creating more lasting change. Read more here.
