About Sheila
Sheila de Leeuw is a holistic bodyworker based in Amsterdam. Her work is rooted in a deep fascination with the body as a gateway to healing and personal transformation. In her sessions, the body takes center stage. Through touch, breath, movement and presence, She invites you to shift out of the mind and reconnect with what’s alive within you. The body doesn’t lie, it holds a deep wisdom about what is needed to heal. True transformation happens when we go inward, feel and allow what is there. Every process is an adventure, a journey of discovery. At times raw, at times gentle, but always honest and real. Her intention is to offer a safe and grounded space where you can meet yourself, free from expectations or pressure. A space where you can be more authentic, and where you can begin to feel more free, creative, and connected to life.

The Grinberg method
The Grinberg Method is a structural bodywork approach that teaches you to increase self-awareness through touch, breath and movement. It allows you to work with chronic pain, emotions, trauma, limiting beliefs and counterproductive behaviours by addressing the patterns in the body that hold these experiences in place. The method aims to reduce tension and pain while enhancing focus, energy, presence and personal freedom in everyday life.
Massage therapy
In a massage therapy session, various bodywork techniques are combined to support your physical, emotional and mental well-being. Through the integration of touch, breath and gentle movement, the work helps to ease tension, reduce stress and calm the nervous system. It also supports deeper, more restorative sleep, strengthening your overall well-being.
Footwork
Footwork is an approach that works exclusively on the feet. Drawing from The Grinberg Method and massage therapy, it uses touch and movement to stimulate awareness and release tension throughout the entire body. The feet mirror our overall physical, mental and emotional state, allowing the session to support change far beyond the feet themselves.
This approach is especially suitable for people who prefer not to be touched elsewhere on the body, enjoy foot-based work, or wish to remain fully dressed during the session.

★★★★★
“I’ve been going to Sheila for massage therapy and Grinberg sessions for over two years now. The different sessions with her are always fantastic, deeply healing, and I feel completely at ease. Because of that, I have total trust in her and every time I leave with new insights and a greater sense of acceptance toward my (sometimes painful) body.
It’s been especially wonderful that she helped me start breathing deeper during sessions, which has brought me so much. It almost feels like she can read your body, it’s truly something special.
In short, I wish everyone a Sheila in their life. She truly has golden hands.”

“I thought I had to travel the world to discover what true freedom meant.
But what I found was that the whole universe is already inside me.
And that to be free is to surrender,
To fear.
To let it shake and tremple you
Allow it to flow through every vessel of your being,
Like a fast-paced river moving where it wants to be.
To pain.
To let it be your teacher.
And allow the tears to move you,
Like a tree in an autumn storm,Not afraid to show its true colors.
At times you might feel as high as the highest mountain
and at times you will feel as deep as the deepest valley of the sea.
Learn to breathe and relax into it.
To become as light as a feather and as grounded as a tree.
Alive.
That is what true freedom means to me.”
